Puzzles for Settle District U3A Mathematical Puzzles

The ENIGMA puzzles are taken from New Scientist.

Sessions take place on Tuesdays at 2pm in the Victoria Hall. Dates for spring 2010 (i.e. 2nd and last Tuesday of each month):

The group looks at puzzles from a wide variety of sources. Anyone is free to bring a puzzle for others to talk about and possibly solve. Sessions are surprisingly jolly.

With the annual controversy about “dumbing down” of GCSE and A-level, it might be interesting to look at the maths School Certificate from 1941.
