How to Join

Membership runs for a year from 1st July to 30th June

The minimum membership fee for 2017/18 is £15. 

The Committee would encourage those who are able to, to pay £18 (which is the estimated average membership payment to meet the annual costs) or more.

 

Members of other U3As (other than those in the WestNet network - Bradford, Craven, Ilkley and Keighley U3As) can become an associate member for £11.50.

WestNet members do not need to pay a membership fee.

If you join in April, May or June of the current year and pay £18, your membership will be valid until 30th June of the following year.

We have three ways of joining and paying:-

i)             By printing off and filling in the Enrolment Form and paying by cash or cheque;

ii)            By printing off and filling in the Enrolment Form and paying by bank transfer.

iii)          By joining online and paying by using PayPal or debit/credit card.

For i) applications can be sent to the Membership Secretary or by bringing the completed form and payment to the next Thursday meeting at Victoria Hall.

For iii) go to the on-line enrolment page, choose your membership class, fill in your details and make a payment through the PayPal system.

Payment will be by using the PayPal system but you DO NOT need to have an account with PayPal to use it.  You can pay as a ‘Guest’ with your debit or credit card and both you and the Membership Secretary will receive an email to indicate you have paid.  (We incur a small charge from PayPal for the use of their system of between 40p and 50p).

Gift Aid

If you are a UK tax payer, Gift Aid can be claimed for this membership fee and any membership fees that you pay in the future to Settle District U3A. You must understand that if you pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in the current tax year, it is your responsibility to pay any difference to HMRC. A Gift Aid declaration tick box is available on the on-line form and a Declaration Form is available on the Enrolment Form.
